Betty, I could proably draw it up via EQ7 for you. What size are you looking for? The templates would be huge that size needing a lot of paper.

I haven't seen a pattern for that large of a compass. Let me know if you'd like one drawn up.

Betty, I'm with you that is super pretty. If you do get a pattern let me know and maybe we can do a quilt-a-long as I would love to make one too.

That is gorgeous!!! Kudos to your for wanting to try it - I have a small pattern similar to this, that I'm going to try, it's paper pieced - would make it a lot easier to get it lying flat, and make all those points meet. Will be looking forward to seeing how this goes for you!

I love that design. I'd be up for a quiltalong too I think.

Betty I am about to make a mariner's compass block for the center medallion of a storm at sea quilt. The block will be 32" in diameter and I had to take the pattern to a shop that makes blueprints to get copies made because they have photocopy machines with big enough paper. I could recommend a book or two if you are interested.
This will be my first excursion into paper piecing and am only doing it because my niece chose this as the quilt she would like.

Try Carol Doak's paper piecing book on Mariner's Compasses. Her book makes it easy to change sizes.
